While on a trip to the annual Maine Lobster Festival one summer, I was inspired by a collection of mariners’ knots I came across. I was fascinated not only by the beautiful intricacy of the knots, manipulating basic rope to look delicate and lace-like, but also the way the sunlight shone through the softly frayed edge of rope, like the halo of sunlight dancing through a child’s hair on a day at the beach.
Line of Light is 12 meters of LED illuminated rope looped and suspended from hand stitched leather hangers.
